Book Reviews

I enjoyed the read. I believe it does an excellent job pointing out "red flags" that not only sisters should look out for, but also for brothers to do a self-examination so that they're not a caution to a sister who is pursuing marriage.

Leo Brown Jr.

I appreciate this intentional effort to protect the heart and to equip our sisters in Christ and those outside the Body. This book reminds us that godly relationships are built on integrity, commitment, and Christlike character—not merely persuasive words or empty promises. It is a valuable resource for any young woman seeking God’s wisdom in choosing a life partner.

Red Flag Five really made me stop and think about how easy it can be to focus on someone’s potential rather than on who they consistently show themselves to be. I think it’s easy to see potential in people and hope they’ll change, but I’m reminded of how that consistent behavior could tell me much more than promises ever will. It further explains that having discernment and personal standards, which isn’t about being too picky; it’s about protecting your peace and knowing your worth, is important because emotions alone can sometimes cause us to overlook warning signs. It shows ways to pay attention to patterns instead of making excuses for red flags or believing someone will eventually change. Overall, just get the book. You’ll feel better knowing healthy love should bring peace, not constant confusion or stress.

Such an insightful read and easy to digest! Found myself understanding a totally different perspective.

The gaslighting chapter hit me the hardest, for sure. It really broke down how manipulation isn't always obvious. It's something that builds over time and makes you start questioning yourself without even realizing it.

Encouraging. Empowering. Honest.

It’s clear, direct, and to the point. In a world filled with faux philosophers and influencers, I appreciate the succinctness and transparency of this work.

Too many people stay in painful relationships because they think that they need a dramatic reason to leave. You don't.
